Art on Paper strives to organise a niche, international fair that presents contemporary art with a focus on drawing. It takes place in Brussels, the capital of Europe and an emerging centre for contemporary art.
Housed within BOZAR, an epicentre for European culture, the fair has become an annual event, a focal point for contemporary art and drawing professionals and an opportunity for networking. It holds a prominent position at the heart of Brussels Gallery Weekend, an international event that attracts the most important collectors and arts stakeholders every year, while enjoying exceptional press coverage.
Building on the success of its last three editions, Art on Paper is continuing its evolution with 40 exhibition spaces that reflect the diversity of approaches to contemporary drawing through each solo presentation. This year, the event will move upstairs to the 'Circuit Ravenstein' in BOZAR's prestigious exhibition halls, confirming its status as a major player in its field and offering both exhibitors and the public a renewed and even more exceptional experience.
What's more, with its strong desire to support emerging artists, Art On Paper offers an unprecedented opportunity to see the most current trends in drawing. Each year, this commitment is reflected in the 'EECKMAN ART PRIZE', which is offered thanks to a production grant and supplemented with an exhibition space during the show. The 2018 edition also welcomes a new section of small spaces (4m²) – project spaces that offer laboratories for new expression to emerging structures.
Lastly, Art on Paper also features an innovative and stimulating editorial approach thanks to its artistic direction and independent selection committee, bringing together art professionals, collectors and international experts. As never before, it offers a bold and lively fair that reflects the diverse array of approaches to contemporary drawing.
